What the treatment is

Each set of aligners is worn for about one to two weeks, most of the day, before moving to the next set. Check-ups track progress, and a retainer is worn afterwards.

Small tooth-colored bumps (attachments) are often bonded to some teeth to help the aligners move them.

Why it may be recommended

  • Mild to moderate crowding or spacing.
  • Some bite problems, depending on complexity.
  • Patients who prefer removable, less visible treatment.

Medicaid and CHIP

Texas Medicaid and CHIP do not generally cover clear aligners.

Accepted at Arlington and Commerce, subject to eligibility and plan verification.

Alternative treatments

Alternatives depend on your teeth and health. Ask your dentist to explain the trade-offs of each option, including doing nothing.
