How MyDentalPrice works
MyDentalPrice helps you understand what dental treatment may cost before you book, and points you to the nearest Sonría Dentista office that offers it.
1. Learn what affects the cost
Each cost guide explains what a treatment involves, what is usually included, and what makes the price go up or down.
2. See labeled prices
Prices are set by each practice for each of its locations. Where a practice publishes a price, we show it with its practice and location, a label (a starting price, a range, a promotional price with its terms, a flat fee, or “requires an exam”), what it includes and the date the practice verified it. Where a practice has no public price, you can request an estimate from that practice. No price on this site is a quote.
3. Find the nearest office that offers your treatment
When you search by city or ZIP code, we:
- keep only Sonría offices that offer the treatment you chose;
- if you chose Medicaid/CHIP, keep only offices that accept it (subject to eligibility and plan verification);
- sort the rest by driving time from your area, using routing data for nearby towns and an estimate elsewhere.
All offices on MyDentalPrice are Sonría Dentista, our affiliated dental practice.
4. Call or request an appointment
The office confirms your treatment plan, your cost and what your insurance or plan covers.
How prices and estimates work
Prices on MyDentalPrice are set by each participating practice for each of its locations. They are not local averages or numbers we work out ourselves. A published price gives you an idea of what treatment may cost; it is not a quote or a guarantee. The office confirms your final cost after an exam and a treatment plan.
With insurance or paying yourself
If you have dental insurance: what you pay depends on your plan and on the office. Plans have deductibles, coinsurance, an annual maximum, waiting periods, frequency limits and exclusions, and each office has its own contracts with insurers. MyDentalPrice does not calculate what your insurance will pay. Share your insurance details with the office, which can confirm your coverage and your share of the cost.
If you pay yourself (no insurance): the published price is that office’s self-pay price. Ask what it includes (for example the exam, X-rays or follow-up visits) and which payment or financing options the office offers.
Medicaid and CHIP: only some offices accept them. If you choose Medicaid/CHIP when you search, we show only those offices. The office verifies your eligibility and your plan.
Why treatment prices vary
Two patients having the “same” treatment can pay different prices. Common reasons include:
- what the dentist finds in your exam and X-rays;
- how many teeth are treated and how complex the case is;
- materials and the dental lab (for example the type of crown or denture);
- extra steps some cases need, such as extractions, bone grafts or sedation;
- each office’s own fee schedule and insurance contracts.
That is why every price carries a label, and why we show “requires an exam” instead of guessing when a price cannot be given in advance.
What MyDentalPrice is not
- Not dental insurance or a dental plan.
- Not a discount or membership plan.
- Not a fee-setting authority: practices set their own prices.
- Not a replacement for your dentist: diagnosis and your treatment plan come from your dentist.
